tecnology

The boards provide a sense of fluid movement, the result of combination of the following factors: response speed, flex pattern, torsional rigidity, lightness and strength.

Precision Engineering: Each material that makes up a board has its own function and has been carefully selected. The boards are pressed in three-dimensional molds with camber and concave. The concave is responsible for the structural support of the boards and assists in positioning the feet of the rider. The camber is responsible for spring effect - conversion of energy from the rider’s weight into motion. It converts the energy of pressing down the board into movement.

multi-axial fiberglass

It is responsible for the rapidness of response, defines flex pattern, torsional rigidity and strength. We use non-woven fibers that do not sag under strain. The fibers are placed only along the force application directions, eliminating the dead weight.

epoxy matrix

Specially formulated to give better tenacity and fatigue resistance characteristics to withstand high deformations on cyclic loads. This means that the board has longer life and will not have significant loss of flex. In addition our resin is free of solvents and diluents.

100% bamboo core

Cores for our boards are made of vertically laminated bamboo, also known as V-lam. It has excellent mechanical properties due to the continuity of the longitudinal fibers that pass through its entire length. This material is lightweight, very durable and flexible.

pressing

We manufacture our molds in-house, with camber and concaves modeled specifically for the best performance of each particular model. The process and environment are 100% controlled with molding at elevated temperatures, post-curing and annealing, all to increase the mechanical properties of the composite. The ratio of fiber/matrix in the final product could reach its optimum at 60/40, reaching maximum strength with minimum weight.

grip

The grip of the bossa boards was developed as a combination of resin with special abrasive granules that when compared to traditional sand paper reduces the total weight and does not inhibit flex performance.

cnc cutting

The computerized cutting (CNC) provides accuracy and consistency in the standardization of our boards, and allows flexibility in adjustments for customizing models. All boards have unique identification numbers engraved on the base during the cutting process.
